About SpaceNav

SpaceNav lets your explore your tags represented as an inifinite 2D space. It will enable you to discover the relations between your tags, as well as recognize different patterns characterstics of certain grops of tags.

SpaceNav is intended as an introduction to Revealicious, in the sense that it will allow you to wander in the dense network created by your tags, and maybe realise how rich this information is.

Using SpaceNav

In SpaceNav, tags are represented both as text (this is what you see when the applet starts) and as a small point encircled by an aurora (this is what you see when you clicked on a tag). The radius of the aurora represents the number of posts that were tagged using the tag. When a tag is clicked on (we say choosen), related tags will be laid out in circle around it.

You can explore your tags by clicking on them. Each click will take you to a specific tag, and your exploration path will start to be visible. This path is interactive : you can click on any of the white points to go back to the tag you explored at that time.

If you click on a tag more than once, you can change the layout of its related. By default, all related tags are laid out in circle, if you click one more time, the related tags will be laid ou in circle, but will be closer to the current tag if they were frequently used with it. If you click one more time, all related tags will disappear.

You can select a tag by dragging and dropping either its representation as a point or as text on the little "drop tags here" label in the status bar (look at the bottom middle of the screen). Once a tag is selected, a red label will appear, you can drag and drop it on the background to deselect the tag.

The selected tag will appear in red, and the tags related to the selected one will appear in a lighter shade of red. This allows you to directly spot tags which are related to those selected.

You can display posts which are related to the selected tags by clicking on the "Go!" button in the status bar.

You can zoom and pan the visualisation using the mouse (click and drag on the background) or using the keyboard. Panning is done with the arrow keys, zooming s done by using SHIFT and the UP and DOWN keys.

Now, enjoy your exploration !
